Fifty Seven Days Til Christmas

Let me just say this. If you don't have a security system on your computer, or better yet, if you don't turn on your computer's security then you are a total burro... a donkey... an ass, and the rest of us feel no sympathy for you if you are taken advantage of.

If you give out your personal banking info over the phone then you also fit into the category of dumber than donkey doo.

Scammers are everywhere. On Facebook, on your e-mail, calling your home, EVER EEE WHERE!

I received scammer phone call just this week from a man posing as a Wal-Mart employee calling me from Arkansas stating that Wal-Mart is would be giving me a free $500 debit card and a $40 gas card. Both free of charge and that I would have a year to use them. Ooookay then.

All I would have to do is pay the $4.40 postage fee. "And how do I do that?" I asked. "By giving you my credit card number or bank card number today over the phone?"

"Yes", he said.

When I told him that, "I don't give that information to anyone over the phone," he suddenly became belligerent towards me at which point I told him to have a nice day and I hung up.

Fair warning, Folks. Tis the season, Ho Ho Ho. Donkeys belong in the manger during the Holiday Season.. Don't be one yourself.

If I had a dollar for everytime this has happened. I mean, I guess this is still working on people or they wouldn't try it. And sometimes, I yell at them over the phone. Can't help it.

So true! Buyer beware.

Sad, but so very true! The only people I feel really feel sorry for in these kinds of situations, are the very elderly that are still too trusting and more easily fooled and those with some learning disabilities that can get very easily taken advantage of, even if they have someone trying to look out for them.

If it is an unknown or blocked number, I don't answer the phone. Period. If they want to talk to me, they can leave a message.

The idiots are everywhere... and they breed...

I great reminder that no one is safe from identity fraud.

Although, I didn't need the reminder about Christmas. Now, I'm freaking out!

Good advice. There are so many people out there who prey on the stupidity of others.

Oh Di...I do so much shopping over the phone...and worry every single time I give it out...but I still do it! Of course it is me that is initiating the call..but still..it concerns me.
I'm hanging in there...what a time it has all been... thank heavens for you...and just being able to at least get on here a bit each day!
Hugs..and more hugs!

It always amazes me that people will willingly give out this information over the phone to someone ASKING for it! ACK! You see them on the news and even they look sheepish as they know, after the fact, it was a huge lapse in judgement. And it's sadder still that so many are out there doing their level best to take advantage of others, esp. the elderly. This is a good reminder.

I agree. To many folks trying to scam people out there.

I love the donkey pictures. One looks just like my Jack. Well, a smaller version of Jack.
Cute!

Have a great weekend.
