This blog is for fun and enlightenment. I try not to be too crass, too opinionated, too critical or too political as some of these things tend to drive new and old friends away. BUT, I do ask that you be open-minded and understanding in that we are all different and unique human beings who sometimes make the mistake of saying things before we think them through. Live well, laugh often, love much, and by all means, come back soon.

But I Liked Fabio She Pouted

I'm sorry to say that I am not a reader anymore and I'm not sure when it was that I turned into a non-reader type person. It just happened.

There was a time when the above words of a cheap, romance novel made my day and kept me all horny-fied until my husband came home from work. Well, my first husband.... and I was MUCH younger in those days and probably much more naturally horny-fied even without the words of a cheap novel to push me into those moments of steamy, hot passion when the sun went down.

Savage Thunder by Johanna Lindsey was my favorite... you know... the one with the entire page describing them having sex while riding a horse. I would read it to you right now if I still had the paperback.

And, LOOK... Fabio was on the cover portraying Colt Thunder..... erm, the guy on the boing boing horse.

When I searched for the same steamy book today the cover had been completely revamped. It looks like a Little House On The Prairie cover. What the..... hey, where did Fabio go?

Sure wish I had my original copy with Fabio the fabulous on it. *snifs* Where for art thou Fabio? Don't tell anyone, but I still get excited when I think about that horse riding sex scene in the book.

I never could get into the romance novels... but I do love to read. I'm more of a spy thriller type girl. There's some pretty steamy scenes in some of those books too, just not quite so graphic ;) (leaves more to the imagination)

Fabio was a hunk, though. Going to check out on google what he looks like today. And wtf is up with the new cover????

O.M.G. That was a trip down memory lane for me. As a young teen, I absolutely adored Barbara Cartland novels -- always a Duke or Marquis in the story. I was starry-eyed over the Marquis every time.

My trashy novel reads evolved into historical romances which then evolved into autobiographies and more factual type books -- travelling, countries, cultures.

*sigh* The last year or so, I don't have much time to read at all. Must be all this blog writing and hopping, twittering and facebooking I've been doing!!

Would you like to borrow my horse to learn how impossible those scenes really are?
