My plan for the day on Thursday was to head from Linthicum over to Columbia and do a bit of shopping at my favorite store there. Home Goods! How I used to love this store when it was just a few minutes from our home. I purchased MANY decorative items there for our house many of which I still have.

Hubby had said he would 'try' to get away from the meeting early enough so that we could drive up to Baltimore to the Inner Harbor. The restaurants there have wonderful Maryland crabcakes, plus it's just a great place to spend some time.. The National Aquarium is there, great stores, and excellent photo ops which Hubby knows I love. It was the plan for the day that I would shop and then we would head a few minutes up the road to Baltimore.

And so I grabbed a shopping cart and headed up and down the aisles to see if there were any items I would not be able to live without. Up and down the aisles she goes... what hops into her cart, nobody knows. Cute stuff, eh?

However, there was nothing I could NOT do without. Nothing that I probably can't find at home if I look hard enough in our local Roanoke stores. Nothing I needed or truly wanted and I was not going to spend a buck just to spend a buck.
although I did ponder over these plates a bit, and then at 2:00 I headed back to our hotel to await Hubby and our drive up to Baltimore to the Inner Harbor. I soooo wanted to do this.

I waited. And I waited. And I waited.
Hubby arrived back from the seminar at 5 pm.... the sun was going down..... He was exhausted from all the hob nobbing with the big wigs and CEO's from National Instruments and the likes of 'that' world... you know... the corporate world. Without the daylight for photo shooting and not being able to look out over the water of the Chesapeake Bay I saw no reason to drive to Baltimore.
And so it was that we ate at the hotel restaurant once again. A great meal, great company with the man I love...... and fake candles. A blinded friend, no purchases at the store, no Inner Harbor, and a phony fake ambiance candle with a battery operated fake flicker! This trip was getting on my nerves!!!!

I hate it when anticipated trips turn into wish I hadn't gone trips. At least you have your computer...
Hi Deanna... NO... did not have a laptop with me. Was totally stranded. Had to watch CNN and that was all about the Fort Hood shootings.... depressing.
I hate it when you're so excited about something and then.....CRAP! Next time?
Oh dear. I do hope this trip got better.
ARGGGG..not a fake flicker on the table? Awful! Seriously, what has the world come to...
Oh you were in Baltimore? I am about 45 min north of there!
