During the late 60's and early 70's I was a child of the times. Having fun as was the sign of the times.... the dawning of the Age Of Aquarius. Has it arrived yet by the way? I may still be swinging from a star and just missed that psychedlic bus with the flower paint job.
That's me in the middle there with my straight laced Sissy on the right and our cousin on the left. How this hippie chick got sandwiched between those two straight lacers is beyond me. LOL
Much of my time waaaay back then was spent with music in the air and lots of lovin' everywhere, but these days I find myself having become a (shhhhh) a grandmother married to a straight laced but beer drinkin' Viet Nam vet who at one point said he would NEVER marry anyone who had ever done drugs or smoked any of that funny stuff. You know what I'm talkin' about my fellow Aquarians who are still standing around waiting for that same bus. (Don't tell him he did exactly what he said he would never do). Heh heh heh.
Opposites attract, and these opposites are planning a bit of a getaway this week. We are not sure yet where this flowered bus is going to take us, what day we are leaving, or what day we shall be back. Your guess is as good as ours.
Why not sit back, have a toke of, well, of something. I won't judge you for doing something I once had a hankering for back in the day. Here, listen to and watch this video. We like it because it mentions the day we were married. It's not our wedding song, because Hippies didn't have wedding songs... they were high enough on life to dance around to whatever tune was playing in their head at the moment. At least this one did. Shhhhh.

You were sooo cute, well you still are but isn't it amazing to have been so young?! Where did the time go?!
What a cute little blond hippie you were/are! Yes, as a child of the 60's I waited for that flower bus too. Bell bottoms, hip huggers, mini skirts........and the body to go in them. Ah, those were the days!
I knew that was you in the middle. I'm not admitting anything else though . . .
Sounds like a fun trip.
This Ozark farm chick started college in 1970, oh those were the days my friend. What a ride. Thanks for the memories!
Have a wonderful day!!! Peace out...
LOL! Those were the days weren't they?! Such a pretty hippy you are. How awesome that you and the husband are hitting the road. Hope you have a fantabulous time! Peace baby. XXOO Lori
Me thinks there's still quite a bit of that flower child in there peeking out at us from behind the scarves and hats. *wink*
You're too funny! I hope you both have a great get away! :)
Have fun! I need a getaway .....!
that song is nice....and yeah, you're funny :) you make'd me curious ... what wedding songs were at your wedding? :d
Oh yeah, that looks very familiar! I was a long hair free spirit in the 70's too!.
When I first met my country music loving navy vet. husband to be, his first words was, you're not one of those hippies that likes to smoke stuff are you?
That was over 34 years ago. Where did the time go??
Have fun on your getaway!
Pam
Have fun on your trip! Look forward to reading about it.
I love hippies. I still want to be one.
Well I was utterly straight laced but looked the part, completely. Everyone thought I was smoking anything I could find, all that wild wavy hair and funky clothes. I was a preacher's kid, and I just couldn't break my parents' hearts.
But I have no judgment for anyone who partook! :D
Hope you and the partner have a blast away.
Oh, and I love this song. I still listen to E W & F in my car.
