This is a hive. It was built under the eave of our house a year ago during the summer months. Hubby was not going to take the chance of being stung, so we just stayed away from that side of the house until their queen left and all the dude wasps left. THEN and only then did Hubby knock it down. Fortunately we did not have a hive to contend with this past summer... Whew!

These are hives too... I snagged this photo off of the internet to show you what hives can look like on a young child's legs. Miserable, huh.

This is what hives can look like on an adult body.... or they can all merge and create one huge red hive that covers the entire torso. AND, the latter is what happened to Hubby yesterday. The hives all merged and his entire back, stomach, neck, groin... they were all red and itching like crazy. He broke out while at the office and so came home early. He is taking Benadryl for the itch and has been sleeping a lot today since he didn't get much sleep last night.
Come to find out, these hives are a side effect when you stop taking Zyrtec. Hubby went one day without taking it since he had run out, and within hours he looked much worse than the above photo.

I am recommending everyone to NOT take Zyrtec which is sold over the counter at all grocery stores, Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, Walgreen... Hubby's doctor never once warned him that this could happen if he missed even one day of taking Zyrtec.
Many parents are advised by their doctor to put their children on Zyrtec for allergies... Can't say as I would want one of my grandchildren on this garbage. Makes you wonder what the other side effects are.
Here is an entire blog written by a past Zyrtec user. Just thought I would pass this info along to all of you since our doctor's obviously are not.

Yikes those hives look scary, and I know they itch a lot too.
Hi and first thanks for stopping by my blog...and after I thought about it..you are right. Wallpaper although cute at times sucks..my daughter bought a house from 1760 that hadn't been remodeled since the 50's...you can imagine...every single room had wallpaper...it took SIL months and months of renting that machine from Home Depot to get it off...so yes, I spoke too soon!! Now, for your poor hubby...that is horrible and yes doctors do not what they're doing and if they do know they are keeping it a big secret...Sue from Rue Mouffetard
OMG indeed! Hope he feels better soon!
OUCH. that is awful, and amazing. I never knew that, in spite of being a nurse for 30 years. wow. Thanks for sharing that.
Poor hubby.
Hope he is better soon.
Hives are miserable and his looks just awful. No way in the world will I every take Zyrtec. I used to get hives because of my allergies - took shots for a year and haven't had hives sinice. Whew. Hope hubbies hives are gone and he is feeling better.
Oh my gosh, your poor hubby! How is he today?
Funny you put the wasp hive on. I'd never seen one before, well we saw one last fall while out on a hike, and I didn't know what it was, then I was on a friend's blog and she posted one last week explaining what it was, then we went out hiking yesterday afternoon and I saw one and took a pic for my blog lol...It's a popular time for wasp nests!
P.S....I got your package in the mail. You are the sweetest person ever! Looking forward to listening to the cd when I have time alone without the kids running wild through the house and how did you know I LOVE roosters? I love the dish towels and these are no-no's to be used, going to hang them and then slap anyone who tries to wipe their dirty little hands on them! Thank you SO MUCH!
Wow! Amazing! I had no idea!
Your poor hubby! I had hives once - not near as bad as that - and they are horrible. The itching will drive you crazy. I will never use Zyrtec.
May I just say, Holy crap!
