We began our Christmas decorations here on the home front today. Hubby had been busy in the garage taking the mowing deck off of the tractor and replacing it with the snow blade, so the only request I had of him as far as the decorating was to hang a few Christmas lights on the front porch.
Of course the dogs accompanied him on the porch and Handsome donned the much loved, reindeer antlers that had belonged to Max in past years.

At first he was more than happy to model the antlers for a few photos and he smiled as always is the case with our darling Handsome.
Missy, however, felt that Handsome was receiving far too much attention and requested to "please may I wear the antlers a bit." And Hubby obliged her so as to not have any hurt feelings. She's very sensitive.
But a request for attention soon turns into stress where she is concerned because like me, headbands have ALWAYS given her a headache.

The lights on our front porch are few... simple....just enough to light Hubby's way up the drive and into our door each cold, December evening. They are a part of his 'welcome home, Honey' each night. He's not one to get overly excited about Christmas decor, but these small, unobtrusive looking lights for some reason bring a light to his face during this Season.
After Missy's moment of stress the antlers once again found their holiday home atop Handsome's cartoony head, that is until he too had had enough of this Christmas game invented by the evil humans in his life... you know, the ones that adopted him the day after Christmas last year and fed him enough to add a lovely 30 pounds to his puny, starved physique.

"Thanks for the home, the bed, the ever-filled doggie bowl of chunky size, canine food floating in ham broth twice a day. Thanks for the pats on the head, the clean teeth and trimmed toenails. BUT, this game is over and done. We'll do it again next year... okays with you Mom and Dad?"
And so ended the seasonal games on our front porch.... at least until next year.

I call my Eddie "buddy" all the time.......Bill and I talk to him like he is our child, but even worse, a baby who never grows up, even though he is almost 13.
Your "kids" are beauTiful.
Cute, cute, cute, cute. I was just telling hubby I wish I could come up with some jazzy way to decorate, but that I like simple... so we will once again keep it simple this year! Can't wait to see you Christmas tree.
I think that picture of Missy with the antler headband should be used for a Christmas card cover. Surely you could come up with a pithy caption!
Handsome is exactly that! Love the antlers! I'm like Missy, the headbands would hurt my head too!
I got my granddaughters those antlers at W*M a couple of weeks ago and they had people laughing all the way through the store. We got our lights up this weekend and the tree also. Now it's beginning to feel like Christmas is coming.
So darn cute! I loved it and my little ones enjoyed these pictures too!
Adorable shots of the "kids" in antlers! My maddox has antlers too, but I think he also gets a headache from them.
This Life Thru the Lens
This reminds me of my daughter, she always "dresses" her chihuahua and she had on a hand crochet dress with a turkey for Thanksgiving...Lucky your two aren't hers, they'd be modeling dresses.
