The weather played havoc with the East Coast of the U.S. this week. The 11th and 12th. I stayed indoors because for 36 hours the rain came down hard and fast without letting up. Not even any thunder or lightning... just crashing rain.
By Friday I needed to get out. I snapped this shot just to show you the dark clouds to the north and east of us after the weather had left our area of Virginia.

I pulled off the Alt-220 into this empty cul-de-sac in an industrial area to get a shot of the clouds over the Blue Ridge Mountains looking south. I almost thought it wanted to snow!
See, this is where I parked... in the cul-de-sac that has numerous "NO PARKING EVER EVER EVER" signs. Cuz I'm a rule breaker and because there were no policemen around. ;-)
Mother Nature done shed her purdy leaves and now leaves us with views like this.

Well, okay... so there was one lonely, orange colored tree left.
It's still a sight to behold. Just enlarge this photo and I think you'll agree. It's still pretty enough to inspire a banjo player to wanna do a mountaintop jig.

That last photo IS gorgeous. Views like that are one of the reasons I like living up here, despite how much I miss Texas.
