The Grinch was one mean dude, but that didn't keep my grandchildren from wanting their picture taken with him on the downtown streets where they live. He is also a character who speaks his mind, does not mince words. My kind of guy since you always know JUST where he stands even though he does have a heart two sizes too small.
My grandchildren have huge hearts filled with kindness, taught by loving parents to give back in this world... they do however, as with most children feel compelled to say exactly what's on their mind, and that is a Grinch trait. *or perhaps a family trait*
After attending church on Christmas Eve and watching a live re-enactment of the manger scene including a live yak, donkey, chickens, sheep and even a camel, my grandson announced this fine Christmas morning that "there was an ass in church last night".
Good thing our darling grandson could not hear the gufaws on this end of the phone.
"Yes", said his grandfather after I related the story to him, "I bet there were a lot of asses in church last night". *ahem* That's my Grinch for ya. *winks*

Hahahaha, LOVE that!! That is why I enjoy working with kids, they are so honest- what you see is what you get and what you hear is often what you would prefer not to hear but it's the truth that can't be denied..hahahaha...by the way, LOVED the title of this post- my favorite movie is the Wizard of Oz and this title of course had it's similarities..JUST HAD to check it out!! FUNNY! By the way, your grandkids are adorable but you've probably heard that millions of times...
