Living In The Freezer

By Sunday afternoon we had a bit of blue skies struggling to shine through the bleak, gray, skies of Friday and Saturday.  These are winter skies and with just one look they can chill you to the bone.

It's almost a mysterious color of blue... it beckons you to spend time outdoors, but don't let it fool you.  There's still many moons and many more inches of snow to be survived before there will be any steaks and hamburgers grilled on this back deck... *grins*

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

I really don't know who these woods belong to.  All I know is I'm doing a happy dance for NOT giving my long wool coat away this fall as I had considered doing.  I'm good at getting rid of the things I have not used in a few years, but this would have been a pretty penny to replace.

Seriously, I had considered just two weeks ago giving it to the shelter for abused women thinking that perhaps someone may have had to leave their home in the middle of the night and not had a chance to grab her warm winter coat.  With a mighty jolt... in stepped Old Man Winter.

Perhaps next year I can bring myself to part with it, but with these cold, winter woods having filled up with snow and temperatures cold enough to make Rudolph's nose quit blinking at a regular pace, I'm glad to have kept the old thing.

Sometimes we hesitate with good reason.

Good serviceable coats are a necessity! So are boots. I am bootless at the moment, something I need to rectify soon.

We've been lucky so far this year. It is definitely a good thing you didn't give the coat away. Hmmmm I need to splurge on a pair of boots too...

We don't have snow, just cold wind! It's suppose to move in on us Thursday so maybe we will have a White Christmas (something unusual in Oklahoma). One inch of snow constitutes a White Christmas here. Hope you stoke up that fire and stay in where it's warm. Wishing you a Very Merry Christmas, Di!

I've decided I need to buy a warm wool coat for the winter. Haven't needed one for a few years.
Your snow pictures are beautiful! Hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

Oh but it's beautiful from a distance. There is something about the soft fall of snow...and the quiet. I think I have snow in my heart..it's my childhood..& my early romance with Patrick..I miss it!

Ok..I am caught up..at least to some degree. I watched the video's and ..was delighted. I get to experience the snow..and it's almost like being right there. What great video's. Please make more...
I have been sort of wrapped up in self pity the past few days..and I have no right...but it will pass.
That snow made me feel so good.
*smile* What a great way to start really feeling the season. The music..and the snow.

The snow is pretty to look at, but I do not want any of it here.
