This blog is for fun and enlightenment. I try not to be too crass, too opinionated, too critical or too political as some of these things tend to drive new and old friends away. BUT, I do ask that you be open-minded and understanding in that we are all different and unique human beings who sometimes make the mistake of saying things before we think them through. Live well, laugh often, love much, and by all means, come back soon.

Nostalgia

I miss Dan Fogelberg this time each year since his passing. The power of his music sets my mind wandering to past New Year's Eves, some good, some a bit sad.... but always spent with people I love or loved somewhere along this journey known as 'Life'. Such a lovely and nostalgic song on this once again marking of the passing of one year into the unknown 12 months ahead that will bring each of us smiles and tears along the way.

Happy New Year Everyone.
Happy New Year, Dan.... wherever you are.

I loved this all those years ago, when it was new and I was going through a rather painful transition in my life. I still love it.

Happy New Year!

This is one of my all time favorite songs - maybe in the top 15.

I had that situation happen to me (along with thousands of other people....). It happened in Cedar Fals, Iowa, one very cold winter night.

The person I met had a very secure life, decent husband, etc. and I was still floundering in life. We did not go out and drink beer, etc. but we visited for a long time.

You can't go back but sometimes you wonder what life would have been like if you had made a different decision here or there - or if you had not been so hard headed, etc.

I remember the first time I heard this song it pretty much floored me. But that's the nice thing about music.

Have a great New Year's Day!! And thanks for posting this wonderful and most appropriate song.
