Come December each year the dark cover of the night skies settles in early. Our mountains rise up to meet the sun and the horizon slips from view before we are ready for the day to end. Just one more hour, please? Could we get just one more hour??

But once the process begins.....

It's too late to beg for more.

I know that Hubby is completing his day at the office soon and will be on the road for home, and so the light in the front window goes on to guide him to our driveway. It must cause him to breathe a small sigh when the glow of the little light appears before him since it's a small reminder that something is cooking on the stove just inside. His one home cooked meal of the day, at the end of the day.

I love being his wife and keeping the home fires burning for him. It's the least I can do. A small thing and yet a great thing for any man to know that a warm home awaits him 365 days of the year.
What small thing do you do for your spouse every day of the year just to let them know they are loved and appreciated? Kindness costs nothing so why not give it away.

I just finished watching your video of the family...and it's funny. Watching you I nearly cried. You became even more real to me. You are out there somewhere, miles away, but out there. My friend, Di.
Needless to say, your family, your home, your values, are all so neat and good! Ok, enough blowing smoke. :)
Lets see, I always fix his plate, bring him coffee and check to be sure his coffee is hot. (He hates it when it cools!) I press his hankies and his shirts and keep his dresser drawers neat and tidy and I turn down his side of the bed at night. The usual I guess!
A light in the window...yes. That's love!
It's not an everyday thing.....but, when the weather is bad, like today...i'll call and make sure he got to work OK and then this afternoon...I'll call again, to remind him....to call me, when he leaves work ... so i can be watching for his headlights coming up the mountain.....it's just a little thing (shurg of shoulders)....
Enjoy...LindaMay
Your a good lady Di. I'm sure your hubby is very grateful for the day he met you.
I can't say that I do anything for my husband on a daily basis, we just try to treat each other with respect and do what we can when we can to help each other out.
I'm with you on the 'one more hour' thing!! Seriously!

What a sweet post! I'm sure your husband appreciates all the special things you do for him. We have clear blue skies today but it's only about 28 degrees outside so a bit cold. As for the special thing I do for Coach - well, I think I'm like everyone else, it's a daily thing. The one thing I can think of that I do every day is that I take time to sit down and listen to him tell me about his day. We spend a little time just talking and sharing and then we make sure that we kiss each other goodnight EVERY night. Even if we have had a disagreement. Thanks for reminding me.
Awwww...........
Your husband is a lucky man! I hope he knows it.
