Snug As Two (old) Bugs

We don't get fancy at our house much, and never on New Year's Eve.  No fancy, glittery pine cones or glittery, leftover ornaments in a centerpiece on the table; just good old cookies mailed by beautiful grandchildren from afar piled onto a cute, gingerbread holiday plate that smiles from beneath the pile of red sprinkles.

No famous drink recipes or the need to purchase expensive, alcoholic ingredients in order to spread them out on the kitchen counter to catch a perfect boozey photo for the sake of my blog.  Just a few spoonfuls of instant chai latte coffee in a cup fills this gal's needs today.

It's frigid outdoors, so as for us.... we'll be right here at home all snuggled safe and warm by the fire, stepping outdoors only to check for the Blue Moon to shine down on our once again snowy, white lawn that we woke up to this morning.

As for this evening there will be sliced beef summer sausage with crackers and cheese and perhaps a sip of champagne just so we can hear that famous New Year's clink of inexpensive champagne flutes before toddling off to bed early in search of one more 'bear like' eight hours of hibernation we old folks love so very, very much.

Let the world outside go on...

Let the snow continue to fall....

As for Hubby and I, we'll be right here at home.
 Safe.
 Warm.
 Content.
Snug as two old bugs in a rug.

Party on, World... Party on.
See you in 2010!

Happy New Years, Di! Coach & I are sitting in a nice warm home in front of a roaring fire. Bellies full, yawning like a couple of contented cats. Have a great evening you two old bugs. LOL :-)
