Our small Christmas tree and all of the holiday decor have returned to their cardboard boxes in the basement... They're so pretty and it's a shame they are only allowed to come out and play for such a short time each year, and yet, by the time they do leave us I am somehow ready for them to return to their eleven month state of hibernation.
It's just that our area of the country is in such a deep freeze weather pattern right now and it's keeping us all indoors close to the fire and snuggled under an array of blankets. I can be a neat freak at times and usually require that stray blankies on the couch are neatly folded, to be found at the end of the sofa. BUT, this past week you can, at anytime of the day or night find them everywhere and anywhere loose and ready for use. The bleakness of this weather which has by the way, kept me indoors for DAYS now and almost in a state of blue sadness, may require a few brightly colored ornaments to return to live here in the upstairs with us again. Just for the cheeriness value they provide.
Whadaya say, Handsome? Shall we decorate again?
*Sighs* Too much work to decorate. So much easier to just snuggle into the blanket with a book next to the fire.
Looks like another day spent indoors waiting for the outdoor temperatures to soar. Upwards that is. Until then I shall hibernate.

13* here this AM....i am braving the cold later in the morning for a library run....out of reading material and another snow coming Thursday.......
Enjoy.....LindaMay
wish I could stay home and hibernate but I'm at the office :-( it's 7 degrees outside. NEW RULE - if the outside temp is below 20 degrees, you don't have to go to work! and still get paid!
It's minus 1 here in Northeast Missouri at about 9:30AM.
We ventured out Saturday. Brought our 5 year old granddaughter home. We'll venture out again today, to take her back to her home.
I know it's a bad bad bad thing, to do to our bodies and health....but if we are going to go out in the cold, then we need some heavy duty fuel. Therefore, it's lunch at Cracker Barrel!
Snow to return Wednesday.
That fire looks wonderful. I just have a mock fire which rattles, so my hubby always turns it off ! ...then I switch it on again :-)
I need to pack up my tree now too...
It's freezing outside..brrr !
Hoping for some warmth for your area. When I got up this am it was 9 degrees here and now it's thirty...your new header is the very best ever!!!
I feel your pain. It is cold and windy here with temps feeling like only single digits. It is flurry-ing as I type. Bur.
We sound a lot alike. I too like my decorations but prefer them to be put away for 11 months. It makes them all the more special when they are out.
It is even cold down here in middle Ga. too! In the teens this morning.
Love your fireplace.
I also saw your free header blog just now. I have been thinking about a new header. Maybe soon...
Stay warm and have a great day.
Pam
This is a bitter cold. I am so ready for April.
Nice post! Looks like we're all in the deep freeze together. Stay warm and healthy!
If you think it's cold now...wait until this coming week. Wowzer's. Keep warm and I really wish I was there to snuggle under one of those blankies!! I would love it.
I thought all the decorations would have been taken down today, but my husband still has them up. (He said he'd do it as it would give him a job to work on). Oh, well.
And despite the cold, I am biting the bullet and still walking outside. I have always done this. It's like a big accomplishment for me. And I have all this great winter gear to wear.
Amen. Ditto. -1 this morning in Central Missouree and 10 degrees now heading to the minus tonight. I am enjoying your blog and your sense of funny. Keep yourself warm!
I hate to say this but today it was 33 in Oklahoma. We are looking at the 40's tomorrow and then down in the teens for the rest of the week. I can't imagine the cold and snow that you have up there. Think I'll stay in Oklahoma for now. Wrap yourself up in those blankets and keep warm. The sun will come out soon and we will be complaining about the heat. :-)
