My Sissy and I are close. I know I have mentioned her here before; that she lives in California on a small ranch where she has and adores animals along with her sweetheart who shall also remain anonymous. They just enjoy their privacy and don't share anymore than is necessary here on the internet.
Anyhoo, this is one of the photos she shared with me last night that she took on her new point and shoot she received from her sweetie for Christmas. Soooo, never let it be said that you can't take a GREAT shot with a point and shoot. I have visited other blogs where the blogger says they 'only have a point and shoot'. BUT, if you work with it people you will find that it totally will do the job for you. No more whining about 'just having a simple point and shoot'.
The above shot Sissy took this past summer of one of her yearling Morgan horses. She's a purdy one. I think her name is Angel. This one was pre-new point and shoot so I'm not sure which camera she captured this shot with. Possibly her big guns Nikon but *shrugs* not sure. The detail on both photos is stunning.

Here's another shot.... I think this was taken a few years back when Sissy first fell in love with Morgans. He's wearing his very first halter. What a handsome fellow.

And of course, how can we forget Sissy's darlin' Harry. This is his baby photo. He's a miniature donkey and I'n sure has grown a great deal since this shot. He also has a friend Gunny who roams the pen with him. From what Sissy tells me they are both quite the characters playing together wildly and kicking up their heels as boys will be known to do.
Soooo, that's just a small picture of what life is like on her ranch on a daily basis. And also a great example of what you can do with a point and shoot.
Never be ashamed of using a point and shoot for your blogging photos. It's what I started out with and still use from time to time. They are the handiest little cameras!
Happy Monday!

Those are some great photos! I KNOW how hard it is to take pictures of chickens. I won't 'complain about my point and shoot anymore. I feel scolded. LOL
It is so nice to see photos that don't have any of the white stuff in them. Those are great photos.
I'm pretty partial to my Pentax, but often use my point and shoot. And of course there is always the camera phone!
You are a sweet sissy for posting my ranch pictures.
of course, I like seeing the horses but the top rooster photo is some real photography, really amazing. She needs to submit that around.
These are great photos Di--I'm so glad your sister has taken these shots which capture their beauty and personalities so well. That little Harry is too cute. We have neighbors that raise miniature horses and I never get tired of watching them frolic in their pasture.
Those are some pretty good photos!
Please tell your Sis how much I enjoy these photos...it's that country girl in me...Love those donkeys...please compliment her on these wonderful photos (so she'll send more!!!)!!!
Just had to let you know that fuzzy donkey just made me smile this morning, Thank you:)
