I rarely watch sports but I was curious as to the name of this particular bowl game. Hubby said, "why it's the Chick Fil A Bowlgame".
And I'm all like.... "WHAT? It's named after chicken?".
"Ya", he says..... "See the Chick Fil A signs all along the sidelines?"
I started laughing and couldn't stop.... "A bowl game named after chicken??"
Hubby smirked and said, "Well you asked."
"Well whatever happened to the days of pretty bowl names? You know, like the Sugar Bowl, the Orange Bowl, the Cotton Bowl, the Liberty Bowl... you know... pretty bowl names. What about a Butterfly Bowl or a Gardenia Bowl. Does everything these days have to be corporate owned and their names hammered into our heads constantly? I want the pretty bowl names back".
No wonder I stopped watching sports years ago. Corporate America just has to ruin everything.
Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl?? It's in Texas... can't we call it the Blue Bonnet Flower Bowl instead?
Brut Sun Bowl?? It's in Texas too! Brut?? Where in the world did they come up with this crappy name.
Roady's Humanitarian Bowl?? Reminds me of an old Patrick Swayze movie.
Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl?? Music Bowl... acceptable... Gaylord Hotels, erm... not so much.
Insight Bowl?? Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Can deal with the Fiesta stuff but throw out the Tostito snacky name.
*still laughing over the chicken name*

I agree with you on the corporate sponsorship. It is awful. It makes everything the same; the whole country is so much like the other that we've lost our individual community identities.
Oh, I like the Gaylord Bowl. And the Blue Bonnet Butter Bowl.
Happy New Year, my friend!
I'm with you on those names...wait...Chicken..what??
Sports. I will watch it...for awhile then I wander off.
Happy New Year, Di!!:)
