After building our new home in Goodyear, Arizona waaaay back in 1998 it was more than obvious that our home would require a new kitchen dinette set; and since there were no children at home or grandchildren in our lives at the time I opted for a small, square, glass top table. It was perfect for the cozy dinette area. I over spent at the time which is something I NEVER DO! cough cough
The fabric was a winter white. Perfect.
It moved with us when we did the long trek of a move to Maryland and worked quite well in that kitchen also, until Hubby had dropped one too many helpings of spaghetti from his fork to his chair and the spots would simply no longer come out of the fabric... Boo Hoo Me.
I purchased a small remnant of fabric from Joann's there in Columbia, Maryland and did the old package style wrap recover job on them. That was probably in 2003 just after we had done our house remodel. The remnant was under $10 so I surely got my money's worth since here we are in 2010 and they once again being recovered.
A few months ago I purchased curtain panels that were on sale at Pier One for the dinette and kitchen windows. A few weeks later I said to myself... "Self, why not purchase another panel and do the kitchen chairs?" Well, the panel has been laying on my office floor just waiting for me to use it after my daughter was kind enough to locate the panel for me in the town she lives in and mail it to me. The Pier One here in Roanoke no longer had any left. THANK YOU, KELLY!! MUAH!! HUGS!!
Today was the day.
Yes, would have been nice of me to show you how to do it, but to be honest it's very simple. It's just like wrapping a package only with a staple gun instead of scotch tape. AND, I know there are many tutorials on the internet how to do it so I won't bore you with ANOTHER tutorial. Really... it's easy, I kid you not.
Two down..... Two to go.

They look great! Wonderful job on them. I can't wait to get mine done as well.
They look really good. You are a great decorator.
They look really good. You are a great decorator.
You have a knack for making a cozy home. The chairs look wonderful.
Oh I really like those, Sissy. What a difference a little fabric makes.
That's mighty crafty of you, looks great!
We're going to have to start calling you Martha Stewart!
How does that saying go? Men are from Mars? Women are from Venus?
After looking at this post it sort of dawned on me that I actually HAVE a few chairs at my table but I had never noticed much about them. Well, I would notice is they squeaked or were not level. But as far as what color they are, well .... uh....! Heh!
But you certainly did make those chairs look a lot nicer. That is why it is nice for men and women to be together, I suppose. They compliment each other and that is good.
Take care and congratulations on having such good taste.
Very, very nice!
Di they look great! You have just given me an idea with your glass top table, I told CH my idea and well we will see how it goes!
That fabric is wonderful and so colorful...we need lots of color in our lives...
Well, heck! That looks downright great! I have never done one..but I know I could. At least I think I could, I think I could, I think I could. :)
Looks good, Sweet cakes!
