Meet my guy. His name is Thomas, Tom, or Tommy as I like to call him. I think I could cheat on my husband with this guy.. LOL, well, okay. You see, this guy is dead so I can say that and get away with it. Isn't he handsome? All six foot one inch of him, and so slim... such a hard body.. LOL
Meet Tommy Jefferson, the boy next door.
Although Tommy is $107,000 in debt, he has a great plantation in Albemarie County atop a very private, small mountain here in Virginia, and it's only a two hour carriage ride (ahem) from my current tiny dwelling here in Botetourt County. Thousands of acres to run and play on!
Here's the house. He calls it Monticello. Classy, eh? He visited France and that's where he came up with the designs for the place. Yes! He designed it himself. Oh, did I forget to mention that he's an architect? He is! Did I mention that he speaks 7 languages? He does!
He's also a fine farmer with a huge garden so I'm sure we will eat healthy, lots of salads... no carbs for him as I'm sure you can tell by his physique.
The views from Tommy's place on the mountaintop will take your breath away and you'll want to stay there forever too just like I do. I plan to sneak away for another carriage ride, hopefully soon, because there remains areas of his plantation that I missed on my first visit.
I'll show you a bit more of his home, Monticello, tomorrow so stick around. I think you'll love the place as much as I do.
Oh, did I mention that he was our third President? Tommy Jefferson. He's my dreamboat.

You are too funny Di. Can't wait for the rest of the tour. I love Monticello... it's so classically beautiful! The flowers up on the mountaintop are amazing by the way. :)
What a great post! I've never been to Monticello. Would love to visit sometime. From your photos, this looks like the perfect time of year for a tour.
We visited Monticello last summer - in 90 degree heat and motorcyle gear. Still enjoyed it but I bet your visit was much more enjoyable!

DI: Okay, one of my most favorite BLOGGERS visiting one of my most favorite AMERICAN PATRIOTS in one of my most favorite CITIES! It doesn't get any better than that, especially at 5AM when I shouldn't even be up. What a lovely surprise to see TJ and Monticello and the vista near Charlottesville. We lived there from 1997-1999 and have been back a few times. I think this is the BEST time of year to be there. Looking forward to reading more.... xx P&H PS Loved how your story unfolded ~ VERY cute!
