Dear Missy

Our dearest Missy.... the apple of our eyes..... the cause of much laughter and the creator of oh so many wonderful memories. We thank you for coming into our lives and allowing us to share these last 5 and a half years of your life with your crippled little legs and hips, a spine that caused you to wobble from side to side and knees that required braces on many days.  Never has there been a rottie in our life that dealt with so much pain and yet continued to take just one more step day after day, year after year.  You, our little love bug, were our hero.

video

Your buddy, Max, has been waiting 2 long years for your arrival at the Rainbow Bridge to once again share the sofa with him as you look out the window.

May your legs know no boundaries in your new home,

May your frail and weakened heart fail you no longer,

May you run pain-free like the wind.

I'll leave the light on and your jingly chain hanging from your favorite shade tree
and think of you as it jangles in the spring breezes next year.

Rest in peace, Missy.
.... rest in peace.... rest in peace.

OH Di..I'm so sorry...we can never fully prepare ourselves for this. I just remember what a friend told me...we could miss the pain but we would have missed the dance...I don't think any of us would want to miss the dance with our four legged friends...

OH, DI! Oh, dear.
As soon as I saw the title of your post, I started to tear up.
My Eddie is holding on, but we know he can't last at his age.
My heart goes out to you, I know you loved her....and she loved you.
You can't replace her, but there is another dog out there waiting for someone wonderful like you and your husband.
Poor Handsome!

Ohhhhhhh, it happened! I'm crying as I read this as I KNOW THE PAIN all too well! A bitter-sweet day - one of pain of loss for you and one of leaps and barks from your fur-child as she's released from bondage! What a GREAT home she had with people who loved her for 'her' - limitations and all! Hope your heart will feel peace soon! Darn!

We just had to say goodbye to our Patsy last week, and I know what you are going through. It may be of no comfort to you now, but things will get better.

own way. I'm
sending you

I am really sorry! I have been there too many times! But I once went to a psychic reading and the medium was so on the button with all my animals it was scary! She told me they are all with me, so that means my house is very busy! So in short, she is now pain free and with you along with the rest of your 4 legged children.
They'll be waiting.

I am so sorry about the loss of your dear Missy. My heart goes out to you. I know how hard this is and no matter how much you prepare, it cannot prepare you for that moment when you must say goodbye.

Missy always reminded so much of my Riley, with his bad hips and his slow walk. He struggles everyday and we are blessed to have him in our life. Missy was blessed by you - you made her part of your family, gave her all your love. And I know she blessed you, too.

xoxo

Di I am so sorry. You know you have been on my mind. Missy, be free of pain now. The collar on Missy's favorite shade tree jingling in the breeze, what a beautiful idea. I'll be thinking of you and your hubby Di and Missy had such a good life with you, that is a wonderful thing. Take care.

I am only now catching up on blogs - Di, I am so sad for you. What a wonderful life you gave Missy, but what an ache to leave behind. Hugs to you.

I to am just catching up with blogs and I am so sorry for your loss. I had to make that horrible decision in Jan and even though I know it was the right one to make, I still have days that are just unbearable. Something someone wrote to me stood out and I hope you will find the comfort it in that I did - "We bring pets into our lives knowing it will be for a much shorter period than we would like it to be yet we do it any way. That must say something about how important they are to us." My thoughts go out to you and your family

Oz Girl said...

Di, so sorry you lost Missy this summer. I second what Jo said - we continue to bring our pets into our lives, to give them the best life we can, because we love them so much. They give so much to us~ they're a member of our families, and it hurts so much to lose them. *hugs* to you and I'm glad to see all the posts about Rowdy - what a beautiful boy he is, and I can see he is already bringing much joy to your family, including Handsome!! :)
