Now, About That Color Orange

I think I may have posted this photo last year... it's from a hotel in Charlotte.  I think this photo may be one of the first moments I began to consider orange in my kitchen.  Or maybe not.

I do know one thing that was a deciding factor for me.

THIS!!!

So.... I went back Monday and offered them my best price.

AND THEY ACCEPTED!!!!

DONE DEAL!!!

It's mine and I'm determined to find a place for it in my kitchen.

Anywhere.

I don't care where.

Hang it from the ceiling... I DON'T CARE.

IT'S MINE!!

I DON'T CARE IF I'M A DORK.

IT'S MINE!!!!!

I am oh so deeply and madly and out of control in love with orange and you may be thinking, "GOOD LORD!  She's fallen into a 1970's time warp machine, is stuck in there and probably won't find her way out.  I'd better go in and save her."

*voice from the tunnel says*

"Please don't.  I'm loving it in here."

*as she rolls around in olive green shag carpet*

OMG....I love it, too!!!! I wonder what that says about me? Then again, I am 'crazy as a loom', so perhaps I can get away with it. Not sure what you are going to do though.
But yes, yes, yes......find a place anyplace and decorate your kitchen around it!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was worth every penny.
You were MOVED.

I know where we can pick up a harvest gold refrigerator to go along with your 70's theme ;)

I love the utensil set - what a find! Very unique.

I think it's cutting edge...orange is the new yellow! How cute it will be...when I first saw your post of those enamelware utensils, I called my sister who is deciding on a kitchen color and I said she should go with orange! It's fun and cheery.

You would have loved the orange kitchen sink we had when I was growing up. It was knock your socks off, screaming orange! Too bad we sold the place and moved to central Missouri.

Yes, Sissy, you are a dork. But you know I love orange so it's perfectly understandable. OMG, remember our living room in Iowa? The furniture, the carpet? I recently found one of Mom's round glass orange ashtrays! Ha! How's that for cool?

That is pretty cool you have to admit. No matter where you put it it will surely pop!!

This was hilarious! I remember the purple, orange and brown haze of the 1970s.. but this kitchen stuff is kind of cool!

I've been drawn to things in shades of green lately. The orange enamel utensil set is really pretty. It will make a perfect focal point for your kitchen.

I can tell that you are happy that the enamel set is now yours. I'm happy that the set had not been purchased before you could go back and buy it!

It's always so fun to find something we love and bring it home. I seem to go through stages with house stuff and lately I've been unmotivated. (Briefcase is probably grateful for that!)

Well, Sweetcakes...it's like this. I say if you love it...make it yours! I had enough of orange back in the days you meniton..but I still love it..mine just sorta morphed into orange.
I also think that kitchen tool set is fantastic! I LOVE it! Orange, purple, Kahki..who cares...that set is cute in any color. And...orange is hot right now...but...I am not so sure about rolling around in that green shag carpet. Sure you don't want me to come in there and get you...you sound in need of a possible "intervention"...but...
maybe not.
Enjoy!

Oh, that's awesome Di! So glad it's YOURS!! It's kinda funny. The day after I saw your orange one here, I was looking through one of my magazines, Romantic Homes, I think, and there was a white one! I'd never seen those before. Super cool- I think you're safe about the 70's thing. I bet it's way earlier than the 70's.
