How I See It

Google made an announcement that they are getting rid of a few
of their services.
Friend Connect, which we Blogger gals all use is one of the
services being affected. From the way I read it and see it,
they are only getting rid of this service for NON-BLOGGER
folks.
So if you have your blog with BLOGGER it should not affect
you directly.
BUT, if you have non-Blogger blogs that you follow or they follow you, then I'm not sure what affect this is going to have.

Here is a LINK with the article on Techcrunch if you care to browse it and see what you get out of it.

I think the gist of it is that Google now wants us to use Google+
to stay in touch.  You know... since they are competing with Facebook to rule the world. *grins*
Hey, somebody has to be on top, right?

Anyhoo....
I have created a Blue Ridge Gal page along with my Diane Cayton-Hakey page on Google+ and I am now going to be posting a link to my daily blog postings there.
The link to that page is on my sidebar for those of you who care to follow me there.
If you are a blog through any other service than Blogger,
you may want to get yourself a Google+ page.

Any input from some of you who know more about this is welcome.

Well here's hoping that it doesn't affect me Diane because I'm a complete 'technophobe' and would just have to go waaaaaaaa! I'll check back with you later and see if anyone else has any more news!

I don't particularly like Google+. I'm not a fan of the circles and I keep getting notices about people I don't know or want to know adding me and then I have to block them.

I can see a time in my future when I will have to decide if I want to keep trying to deal with this type of stuff or put my energy elsewhere.

Or I can just ask Di for good advice, maybe!

I follow several non-Blogger blogs. They are on my blog roll, but I have to physically check for updates. They don't show up!

I just cannot get into Google+...

I have had Google+ for awhile and think it is pretty good, just needs more folks using it. Of course my daughter works for Google so I'm prejudiced!

I use Google+ for photos only and it has a great community for that. I don't know about using it for any other purpose.
