I drove to the countryside this week-end and met up with another blogger.
I had signed up on FindAGrave.com and accepted a photo request to take a picture of an old headstone in what is
the Firebaugh Cemetery.
Just so happens that a local blogger and friend is married to a Firebaugh and she knew exactly where the cemetery was located, met me there, and gave me some history on the area as well as the Firebaugh Family.
I took this shot as I was leaving the area and heading home.
This is typical Virginia landscape... rolling meadows with cows, setting just beneath the blue of our mountains in the background.

You're welcome, Di! It was nice to see you.
I love how you're doing this cemetary thing - really interesting!
And who is looking for graves? Is it an ancestry thing? Do you take a photo of the grave and send it to them? Do you have to do all the digging (sorry for the pun) to find the location of the grave or do they send it to you?
This is all new to me!
I think what you are doing is wonderful!!
And I LOVE our State of Virginia - such a beautiful place!
I love wandering in cemeteries, I've gotten some amazing photos
love that last shot.
Such pretty country by you.
This is such a good service that you provide. I like to look at old headstones. They are such a piece of history.
Love those rolling, gentle hills! And the cows, of course, though horses would be nice, too! I love wandering in old cemeteries!
Love that blue mountain view!
Lovin' your landscape shot:@)
what a great view.
Exactly how I have pictured Virginia..rolling hills. What a lovely shot that last one was..well, all of them actually.
And what a nice woman to meet you there and give you some history on the area.
I am really interested in geneaology so I love visiting cemetaries. Virginia is a beautiful state as is WV! That is very interesting what you are doing. I have never heard of it? ~Patti
Yep, that do look familiar only a little steeper down here.
Gorgeous countryside.. and really cool project!
I do the Find A Grave and Ancestry thing. In spurts, anyway. It's very interesting.
