Rural Thursday

After having lunch at The Olive Garden with Anita of Blue Country Magic a couple of weeks ago I headed home.

I spied this gorgeous creature standing just inside their gate immediately next to the road.
No place to pull over and I could see another vehicle approaching in my side view mirror so stopped, snapped from within my SUV and drove away.

The pasture below looked quite soggy from the deluge of rain we had just been given by Mother Nature so I guess the small paved area where the horse stood was the only dry spot in the house so to speak.

Or perhaps he was just wanting to chat with passers by.
But I doubt it, since he was giving us all a butt shot and not a
'hey how ya doin' wave'.

It's been a couple of years since I've shown  you this little farm barn,

and even though it's looking a little bit worse for wear on the outside, I'll bet it's warm and dry on the inside.

Just sharing a bit of Rural-ness with you as hosted by
Nancy and Lisa.
Won't you join them today for Rural Thursday?

don't you hate when you want to stop for a pic and someone else has to be coming along up the road?! where is this barn?

Smart horse. I wish we had a dry patch for Zip - he's developed thrush in one of his hooves from all the rain, and although I'm treating it it isn't healing well because he's standing in wet patches all day long!

What gets me in the barn photos is the rolling green hill!

It never fails when we slow down to look at something that another car comes up on your rear end and they are always in a hurry! Looks like you got your shot, though. ~Patti

Nothing quite like a rural view. I hate it when I want to stop for a picture and someone is driving up behind me. What gives with that

I agree that's not the friendliest posture, but he's a beaut:@)

Maybe the old guy, or gal was just a bit bashful. Anyway, he's a looker. Love, love the old barn. Oh the stories it could tell. Visiting from Rural Thursday. Now a new follower.
Hugs,
Jann
