As winter approaches my world looks like this outdoors. AND, my cuticles, which are rotten looking anyway, are now looking worse and starting to crack, leaving awful chunks of loose skin that I am constantly pulling at and causing bleeding around the nails.
UUGH!
I know... ugly right??
So somewhere along my way in Bloggyland I came across a blog by Marla, and Marla does reviews on nail polish and eye shadow, mascara... all the beauty products you want to know about before you spend your hard earned money on them, because we all know they're NOT cheap for the most part.
Marla has a video about how she cured her unsightly nail problems and she uses Burt's Bees products and suggested the above Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream and....
also the Almond Milk Beeswax Hand Creme which she uses every night and has for at least six months.
I would also be needing a pair of gloves to wear after applying these two my nails....
so the price of this 'cure my cuticles' application was adding up quickly.
"Hmmmm", me says, "What to do, what to do?"
So, I looked on line and found that Wal-Mart had a kit which included the three items I wanted as well as a hand repair cream,
It was all neatly packaged together for $12.97, which was like getting the gloves and the hand cream for free as well as a discount on the Cuticle Cream and the Almond Milk Cream.
(purchasing all of these items separately $27-$30)
BONUS!! Boing Boing.
I haven't tried the Hand Repair Cream yet but did try the overnite gloved treatment with the Cuticle Cream and the Almond Milk Creme.
It's packaged all neat and tidy and cute so I am thinking this may make a great Christmas gift for someone on your list.
And I'll keep you informed on how my cuticles and nails are doing.
*neither Marla, or Burt's Bees, or Wal-Mart has paid me to speak of them or their products*

Moisturizing is key!
Burt's Bees is such a great company. can not wait to hear what you think ... please do keep us posted. big hugs. (:
That is a good gift idea. Thanks!
My nails and cuticles are in the same shape! I will try Burt's bee hand lotion...I love their lip balm!
I am going to check this out. Hopefully another store has it so I don't have to go to WalMart.
I was just noticing my own cuticles right before I clicked on your blog and I am also in need of some kind of a fix. Mine are dry and I tend to pick at them too. Very unsightly!!!! On my next trip to Walmart, I will check out Burt's Bees. ~Patti
Cuticle cream--will wonders never cease?
Omg, you are so sweet. When I was reading this I thought, wow I think that's me she's talking about. I was a nail-biter as a child and that followed me into adulthood. I can honestly say I have tried EVERY product under the sun. These Burt's Bees products have totally turned my nails around. The key is, be patient, it won't transform your nails overnight. It took months of nightly application. I still apply this stuff religiously every night. My nails are now painted with pretty sparkle nail polish and are hard as a rock. No more splitting. Just be patient.
I love your blog and your home is gorgeous!
I guess I am fortunate because I've never had a nail problem. For awhile they seemed thin and not as sturdy and broke easily but after the doctor recommended 1800 mgs. of Calcium a day, they are amazing. No cuticle problems..but the breakage has ceased completely. I will check out this sweet little nail package as a daughter has problems with her cuticles. Thanks so much, Di! :)
If that doesn't work I have heard that bag balm does. It was made for cow teats, so it must work! Not as much fun to give as a gift, though!
On the other hand I used to sit with my daughter, who got terribly dry, cracked skin on her hands every winter, and rub Vaseline into her hands until they could not absorb any more. It really helped.
Burts Bees hasn't helped..My hands are a mess..with the moving, colder weather..hard water ..I'm going in to winter with a problem...
My hands have been so dry lately! I'll have to pick some of this stuff up at the drugstore. The lotion I am using is not doing its job!
Oh, I use that stuff and it's GREAT! Also, I use Mary Kay's emollient creme and that works overnight. Seriously. Even my husband swears by it...just don't tell him that I told you. ;)
I love Burt's Bees. It really does the trick for me!

I've used Burt's Bees cuticle balm for years. It's really good!
A tip from a northern girl - me!: I take lots of fish oil (you probably already do this!) and I seriously moisturize my hands many many times during the day. And drink lots of water.
All of these things really help. As I mentioned, I live in Minnesota and the air is very very dry and my skin takes a beating.
I don't usually have any trouble with my hands, it's my feet that usually take a beating in winter! But I know cracked cuticles can hurt. I hope this product works for you. I've heard good stuff about Burt's Bees. That's excellent you found it at a decent price!
Good luck!

Just went to Walmart.com and ordered two! :-) Will probably order a few more for Christmas gifts. Thank you for showing this!
