Paying Attention

During my brother-in-law's visit this past week-end we asked what he would like to do and see while here,

and his response was that he "just wanted to 'chill' and spend time with us".

Being a sight seer was not on his list, so we kept things quiet.

 BUT,
on Sunday Hubby decided we should go for a drive around our area and that his lovely wife, Moi, should be their chauffeur.

SO, since I was driving, I kind of chose the destination,

a short drive up on the Parkway to the Roanoke Star that overlooks the valley that our city fits snugly into.

Seeing our city from this vantage point gives a much better idea of the lay of our land and gives people an opportunity to view specific mountain landmarks, and in our five years here Hubby had never been up to the Star.
Go figure.

It was a chilly and hazy day but it was an easy drive and a wonderful way to share with him the area we live in.
Both of the brothers enjoyed this min-trip I have to say.

Plus it cleared my head a bit since I've been feeling a touch of A.D.D. when it comes to reading other blogs.
I'm trying to read and pay attention but somedays have been feeling a wee bit overwhelmed with trying to keep up.
I think it's age.
Yes.
It's age.
Or maybe the vortex created by the big star is just sucking my brains out.

I have not been up to the star in years - probably about 20! I should take a trip up there for photos one day.

Nice post. Yay you!

Well if it's the vortex then it has very powerful suction because I haven't been in to sitting and reading blogs either. I'm doing it but only half heartedly

P.S. My brain was zapped years ago. Not to worry, it's the greatest excuse for not doing anything..such as..wasting time??

I love the star! I've got photos of myself and family with our hair standing on end because the wind blows so wildly. ha I'm glad you got your husband there. It's nice in the evening with a thermos of hot chocolate and snacks. :-)
