It's our life in between.
In between the country and the city;
a life of peace and quiet
with the city just feet beyond our front door.
We live behind that mountain on the right.
just barely removed from the city lights and the rush rush sound of constantly moving traffic.
It's definitely an 'in between' kind of life and one I highly recommend if you are seeking the beauty of nature and yet all that a city has to offer.
We have done the BIG city life and for the past five years this has been our way of slowing things down as we head into our retirement years.
Room for a garden.
Room for peace and quiet.
The in between life.
I'm linking with Nancy's 'A Rural Life' today.

We are heading to that "in-between" in a few short years as the kids move on with their college and life afterwards. We, too, would like that place between city offerings, yet some space and green as well. Your place is beautiful and I still can't believe you will be leaving it.
Well....except for Stumpy. ;)
You've got the best of both worlds!
I like the whole idea of in between. What a beautiful place to live in retirement. B
Sounds perfect life to me. We live 20 mins from city but there no way i could live anywhere but the country. Like you i like having the city near.
That is magical that you are merely a short distance from all the amenities but have the feeling of being isolated and completely rural.
I remember the surprise when I read Thoreau was a short mile and a half from town and not isolated completely as Walden's Pond led us to believe.
You have your own section of Paradise there. Enjoy. It is beautiful.
And we thought we were the only ones!!! Nice to know that's one more thing we have in common!!...:)JP
Lovely place to live ~ Wonderful photography ~ (A Creative Harbor) ^_^
The in between life sounds just perfect!
What an idyllic setting. So beautiful. A wonderful life.
So you're a tween, eh? So are we. I like the convenience.
You have the best of both worlds...that is exactly what my husband and I have been searching for. This type of location. Lucky girl...stay blessed.
Laurie
this is your BEST post. I loved it.
I've always loved your drive into town..right from the garage! It's beautiful. Did you ever find the photo of the geese? And do you have snow??? I can't wait!
Ok..I should not have said that. I don't want people to jump on me. For those in bad circumstances with no heat etc..of COURSE I don't want snow for them!
(just in case..hate pissing folks off!)
Very nice Di, kinda like having it all! Cool pics:@)
The in between life is kind of like having the best of both worlds.
Beautiful
Diane, how lovely to have the mountain as a buffer. Since Dave died, I miss the things an urban area has to offer.
You make "in between" look perfect!
Lovin' that "In between" :)
Lovin' that you refer to yourself as a rural lady -- just like most of us here! Beautiful scenery and sometimes I wouldn't mind being a teeny bit closer to a larger city.
