By now some of you may have noticed that I placed the button for Virginia Bloggers waaaay over there on my sidebar. It's a group I joined and it's chock full of other bloggers in Virginia.
Such a great bunch of ladies, by the way.
Joining an online bloggers group is not only a way of stretching your blogging buddies and friendships, it's also a way to grow your blog followers, so if you're new to blogging or your followers list seems to have stalled out and you're feeling all blue and sad and devastatingly horrible and dejected and left out and ignored... LOL Well, perhaps you need to find a group to join yourself.
I also found another neat way to find bloggers who are in your area who you may not have run across before....
You can actually search the United States, by state and also your own town if you choose. OR, search by a key word or phrase.
Your best new blogging buddy may live in your area!
Go figure.
I mean.. who knew?

We Canadian bloggers do the same here . It is awesome to also read blogs that are just around the corner from us isn't it ? ! There are quite a few on my Canadian list that are only an hour or two away ! Have a good day !
Good tips! I wish they would indicate when the blogger last posted. So many folks stop blogging at some point.

i joined the virginia bloggers about a month ago or so but haven't had a chance to really visit any of them. i'm going to do the local search. love finding other blogs near us!
Part of the fun of blogging is making friendships across the miles ... like pen pals. It's even more awesome to find someone local, to turn a blog friendship into a real live in-the-flesh relationship. (I was found by another Fredericksburg blogger a couple of weeks ago.)
Now I'm going to go visit that link ... and put the graphic on my sidebar.
