Eeetallee-an-OH

Most likely I have talked about Hubby making the Italian dish Giambotto for us before today.
He discovered it over a decade ago when we ate at a now defunct restaurant in Columbia, Maryland called That's Amore.
Serve him something once and he will find out how to make it on his own.

Giambotto starts with grilling Italian sausages and chicken breasts on the grill and then placing them into a large pot on your stove top along with some sliced bell peppers and onions.
Cook until the veggies are done to your liking.  We like ours somewhat firm rather than all limp in the pot.

Also add in some sliced baby bella button mushrooms and once again we don't like them too soft.

Then add in your favorite Italian spices,

along with a splash of your favorite wine.  Hubby chooses to use a merlot.
Once all contents are cooked to your own liking spoon all contents of the pot onto a large platter and top with either potatoes that you have already sliced and deep fried into potato chips, or do it the easy way as we do and purchase a bag of kettle fried potato chips.

The heat from the cooked veggies and meats will soften up the chips just a bit...
It's delicious and OH SO BAD FOR YOUR CHOLESTEROL.
But sometimes I just don't care on a cold, gusty, winter's day and want comfort food.

The End.

Looks so good. I had an aunt that could do that. She'd go out to eat and come back and cook it the next day. I'm amazed - and thankful - that some people can do that.

Is that meal followed by a week of salads in penance, LOL?

Durn, I missed dinner!

That looks yummy (as I'm sitting here wondering if I have any sausage on hand, lol!)!

Never had that at That's Amore. Looks good! I think their original restaurant in Gaithersburg may still be open.

Mmmmmm. Yummo. I need a hubby that cooks like yours! I don't like mushrooms, but could easily adopt this recipe to fit my liking!

That looks so good. My honey can't eat peppers but that just means more for me!

Have never heard of this before. It looks good though! Anything with potato chips looks good to me since I am an addict. Got my results from my cholesterol tests and my numbers are inching up again. I guess I won't be making this anytime soon but you never know in a weak moment. ~Hugs, Patti

I was just busy congratulating myself on getting through the day with just a sensible breakfast..NO chocolate chip cookies, HUGE ones..and leaving last nights left over lasagna alone...and then I dropped in on you! For a second I didn't get the word...then I did! :)
Looks might delicious. So much for last nights lasagna. :) Oh well..I'll fix PH a big toasted cheese sandwich. I'm kidding, I'm kidding!
